HAPPY AUGUST SUNFLOWER!
Planted this variety of sunflowers in my garden this year. This one is almost 7 inches in diameter and the plant about 6 feet tall. I was just so tickled to see the first one open a few days ago and now there are more. There is even a little honey bee enjoying this flower.
I have sunflowers growing from the bird feeder seeds that were scattered on the ground. It was an unexpected and welcome site.
